N-(4-aminophenyl)-4-chlorobenzamide is a secondary amide which has a weak inhibitory avctivity towards cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1). (Kakuta et al., 2008). It is used to synthesise nyphthyridinone derivatives, which inhibit aurora kinase enzymes. (Xiao et al., 2011)

In laboratory batch experiments with activated sludge from a membrane bioreactor, the main transformation product observed was the product of enzymatic hydrolysis of the amide functional group ( Helbling et al., 2010).

The following is a text-format N-(4-aminophenyl)-4-chlorobenzamide map. Mixed bacterial cultures from activated sludge treatment can initiate the pathway. Follow the links for more information on compounds or reactions. This map is also available in graphic (3k) format.
